Meet William

William, The Everyday Gardener

About Me

I’m William, and I’ve been growing my own food for more than 20 years.

Over the years, I’ve done everything from raising secret chickens in a suburban HOA neighborhood to building concrete garden beds so big you can practically see them from space.

Now I’m starting my biggest project yet: building a full Florida food forest from scratch on two acres along the Alafia River in Zone 9b/10a. I’m documenting the entire build so you can follow the progress, learn from what works, and hopefully avoid some of the mistakes I make along the way.

I like growing food, but I also want the space around my home to look good. I’m not interested in turning my property into an overgrown jungle where everything is crammed together and you can barely walk through it. I prefer clean, well-built growing spaces, solid materials, organized layouts, and a property that looks just as good as the food it produces.

This isn’t going to be another gardening channel that only shows you how to plant tomatoes. I’ll share the real experiments, failures, projects, and strategies I’m using to grow food in Florida—including foods most people say can’t be grown here.

Whether you have one raised bed or a few acres, my goal is to help you grow more food, build a better-looking garden, and enjoy the process.

Why Zone 9b/10a-Specific?

We live in the best place to create your own backyard grocery store. There are a lot of things that can go wrong, but even more that can go right!Ā

I'll show you how to be massively successful growing your own food right at home!Ā
